Manufacturing Capabilities


TGE's 70,000 m² manufacturing facility brings MOV production, surge arrester manufacturing, R&D and testing into one integrated site. The MOV production system combines automated equipment with controlled material preparation, forming, firing, coating, electrode processing and final electrical verification.


The factory is equipped with 11 custom-designed tunnel furnaces with a combined monthly capacity of approximately 450 tons. At average D42 size, this corresponds to roughly 24 million MOV pieces per month. Integrated production control helps TGE maintain consistent material, dimensional and electrical characteristics from batch to batch.


MOV Manufacturing Process


TGE controls the complete MOV manufacturing process, from raw material preparation to final testing. Each stage is designed to reduce variation and ensure stable electrical performance.


· Weighing and mixing: Incoming raw materials are checked for key quality indicators before formulations are prepared for different applications.

· Granulation: Particle size, bulk density and moisture are controlled to improve powder uniformity and forming consistency.

· Pressing and forming: MOV green bodies are formed under controlled conditions to achieve precise dimensions and density.

· Pyrolyzing and sintering: Custom tunnel furnaces use controlled temperature profiles and cooling curves to form stable grain structures and electrical characteristics.

· Passivation and coating: Glass coating and automated surface processes improve environmental protection and resistance to edge flashover.

· Surface preparation and electrodes: Grinding, cleaning and aluminum electrode processing are followed by dimensional and adhesion checks.


Final verification: Electrical characteristics are verified before shipment, with additional sampling tests used to monitor long-term stability and surge capability.


Energy-Efficient Manufacturing


TGE continues to improve the environmental efficiency of MOV production through material control, process optimization and energy-saving measures. Because sintering is one of the most energy-intensive stages of MOV manufacturing, the factory applies measures such as waste-heat recovery to improve energy utilization while maintaining stable firing conditions.
